After being born and raised in Camden, New Jersey, David went on to Franklin & Marshall College, Temple University School of Medicine for his MD, Lenox Hill Hospital for his surgical residency, Pitt for ENT, and Baruch College for his MBA. He entered the world of pharmaceuticals in 1982 with Klemtner Advertising, a division of Saatchi & Saatchi, where he served as medical director and Senior Vice President, Account Supervisor. Subsequently, he was Medical Services Director for Bristol-Myers Squibb and on July 10, 1989, started the first scientifically credentialed Medical Science Liaison group.
He went on to create Colleague Medical, a peer-to-peer dinner meeting company for Excerpta Medica and Reed Elsevier. In 1995, he returned to the Saatchi organization and started BESTMED, a medical education company with the slogan, “the most creative med ed company in the world.” He currently heads up the MDea family of companies, including The Doctor’s Channel, The Almost Doctor’s Channel, MDea, and BESTMSLs. You may recognize David as he starred with his Jack Russell Terrier, Elvis, in the CBS hit reality series Greatest American Dog.
Born in New York, Michael grew up in Trumbull, Connecticut. He attended the University of Michigan for undergrad and went on to the University of Connecticut for medical school. After completing his residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago Hospital in 2002, he left clinical medicine to pursue a career in medical education.
He is the President and Co-Founder of MDea, a creative medical education company in NYC, and The Doctor’s Channel, known as the “educational YouTube for doctors.” Michael also serves as the Managing Director of BESTMSLs, a contract MSL organization, where he brings medical and technology expertise to field organizations.
Michael has a passion for technology and gadgets, and is most proud of his wife and two beautiful daughters, Ava and Jordan.
He was selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” (as voted by his mother, Ilene Banks).
Born in Chicago, Damian grew up in Rochester, NY. He attended SUNY Potsdam and the University of Georgia for Business Administration and went on to Seton Hall University for his Masters in Healthcare Administration.
Damian was introduced to the provider recruitment industry in 2003 with Maxim Healthcare Solutions, where he oversaw an Allied Healthcare Staffing office. He then went on to join Jackson Healthcare, as a regional marketing associate for their retained staffing division. His determined workstyle has lead him to serve various executive leadership positions within prestigious nationally renowned healthcare systems: Hospital Corporation of American (HCA) and Universal Health Services (UHS). Most recently, Damian served as the VP of provider recruitment for a pioneer in Hospitalist Medicine. He also, sits on the board of advisory for I Healthcare Perspectives, a collaboration of Healthcare Intelligence.
Damian possesses a vast knowledge in provider recruitment within several national healthcare markets and has helped establish numerous elite medical teams within his years of service. His passion and experience in recruitment has resulted in co-creating a groundbreaking recruitment firm, Dr.Cruiter.
Peter brings nearly 20 years of extremely successful Leadership & Recruiting experience in the Healthcare and Sales Recruiting Industries to our ownership team. As former Director of Global & National Recruitment for international companies such as Reuters and Nortel, Peter has also worked as an executive for Aerotek/Maxim and consulted alongside numerous C Level Executives for several, high profile hospitals, hospitalist management companies and sales industry leaders. He has earned the distinction of recruiting/building tremendously successful teams time and again! Peter is known to execute and deliver creative, procedural/sourcing improvements and solutions that lower expenditures all while driving increased revenue.
Born in New York City, (And a fan of the unusual combo of the Yankees, Rangers and Jets) Peter grew up on Eastern Long Island, NY and attended SUNY Fredonia where he obtained Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration & Resource Management while a member of two, NCAA Final Four, Ice Hockey Teams.
Peter knows way too many movie quotes and now lives in suburban Atlanta, GA with his beautiful, much smarter, Ivy League educated wife and two amazing daughters... and he is still playing hockey! (Just not as fast as he used too!)
Kent McMackin was born in Oregon, and grew up in Eugene, OR. He received a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Services from Southern Illinois University, a Masters in HRMD from Chapman University, and a Post Graduate Degree in Organizational Psychology from Walden University.
He has served over 25 years in healthcare as a hospital CEO in both for-profit and not-for- profit hospitals. Over the last 18 years, Kent has held SVP and VP positions leading physician services, physician executive and clinical recruitment programs for Fortune top 10 healthcare systems, and some of the largest physician management organizations in the country.
Kent joins us from Acadia Healthcare, a Behavioral Healthcare System with 265 facilities in 39 States. As the VP of Physician Services, he built their first Physician Recruitment Program.
Kent currently resides in Nashville, TN.
As the Director of Recruiting for Dr.Cruiter and RNCruiter, Justin brings over 10 plus years of proven leadership, management, recruiting, policy development, consulting and team building experience from several industries, including healthcare and public administration. He has worked closely with high profile, public officials, media and executives of healthcare facilities to cultivate and develop their teams and establish and re-vamp their procedures.
Justin is truly a “people person” and was born and raised in Rochester, NY. This is where his love for great pizza (which is still being debated in our office) and wings was established. He graduated from SUNY Cortland where he played lacrosse and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in History.
He is a firm believer in old fashioned hard work and dependability and his always positive attitude and professionalism are second to none… well, except maybe to our Head of Security.
Justin has a wonderful wife and incredible twin boys. He loves date night with his wife, playing sports, staying in shape and everything outdoors. However, his favorite hobby is spending time with his family and coaching his boy’s lacrosse team. You can often see Justin as Brad Pitt’s stunt double in several of his films…. He wishes!
Elvis, a Jack Russell Terrier, was born in Ridgefield, CT on New Year's Day 2006 to parents Brown Trout and Michaela. His parents hail from England, and after moving to New York he completed his formal housetraining at Petco receiving honors in sit, stay, and come. You might recognize Elvis from his appearance on the 2008 hit reality series, “Greatest American Dog,” on CBS.
